The Cooperativa Vinícola La Viña was founded in 1944 and
has its main offices in La Font de La Figuera, in the La Costera area,
95 km south-west of Valencia. This region is ideal for making full-bodied,
high-quality red wines full of character through long maceration. La Viña
is currently expanding and modernizing its premises in order to increase
its production capacity. It plans to install the latest in modern technology
including stainless steel and self-emptying tanks and is set to build
a cellar to hold 2,000 American oak barrels.
At present, its bottling
plant produces 6,000 bottles per hour. The winery produces about 6,000,000
bottles per year and has around 1000 American oak barrels.
In keeping with its commitment to maintaining quality and looking after
the environment, the winery is currently implementing a Quality Management
System based on the UNE-EN-ISO 9002 standard and an Environmental Management
System based on the UNE-EN-ISO 14001.
La Viña continues to improve its wines through research and development
(R&D), which includes field work and test production in the winery.
An ambitious project is currently underway to build a pilot plant to carry
out research.
